Hi!
I realise that the theme for this midterm was a little difficult, but it is an issue that every intelligent person should have an opinion about (and don't worry the final exams are easier in terms of language). So I think it is a very valid subject to have in a blog. The question i wish you to respond to is:
The developed world and the developing world face much different problems in terms of their populations. What would be the best general policy in developing nations as to the population and population growth in their countries? You can respong generally for all developing nations or speak specifically about your own country. (Or, for that matter, you could choose to talk about the issue from the perspective of the developed world.)
Thanks!
(ps. remember to respond to this on your own blog, not like you did for my last blog assignment about your research project)

Reseach So Far?
Hi Everyone,
For your blog assignment, please respond to the following:
check out this you tube clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_uzUh1VT98
Now that you have gone through the process of 1) choosing a topic to do research on, 2) finding some books on the subject, 4) finding some articles on the subject, and 4) starting to think about the possible Main Ideas (Sections) your research might follow, what is your feeling so fay? You could comment on the process or you could talk about something that you've read so far. Something yo'uvue found surprising, or something that confirms your ideas before starting - it's your choice!
Regards,
Scott

Gender Blog Assignment
Hi!
This blog is actually to answer a question from page 164 of your coursebook.
Choose one of the statements from the first page of your worksheets (p. 122) and agree or disagree with it by providing evidence from the material in this unit. In other words, those statements are typical stereotypes that people hold when thinking about communication and gender. But, now that you have read and listened to a lot of pragmatic research about this field, have your ideas changed at all?
And remember, your blogs are a place for you to enter and participate in an intelligent discussion on issues (i.e. it's not FACEBOOK!). But don't go too crazy on it! ! or 2 paragraphs is fine.
Have Fun!

True or False?
Create four sentences about yourself - 3 true and 1 false. Try to guess each others' statements.
You'll never guess!
1. In high school, I was the captain of the senior basketball team.
2. I hate shopping.
3. I play the saxophone (though I'm not very good!)
4. In high school, I was a below-average student.
Try to guess your classmates' lies by responding on their blogs. but enter your 4 statements on your own blog.
Thanks,
Scott
